11:20 AM Securing All End Points: Understanding the Role of Cyber Security in Autonomous Technology

Ensuring robust cyber security systems and operations is crucial for the success of autonomous vehicles. This is partly a result of the interconnectivity between the infrastructure, people, autonomous vehicles and the internet, which leaves the vehicles susceptible to hackers and other attacks on its array of advanced technology, electronics and sensors. In order to ensure the safe transition and adoption of AVs, the core technology must be secured at all times. This session will outline the various security challenges for AVs, potential cyber attack scenarios and some of the actions that we can take to avoid, defend against, and counter potential malicious attacks:

  • What are the biggest threats facing autonomous vehicles and how can the connected world be made safer?
  • Coping with tackling concerns around privacy and information sharing across connected devices
  • Securing control networks of CAVs and smart infrastructure against cyber attacks
  • Incorporating holistic systems to ensure safety, privacy and reliability
  • Strengthening data privacy policies to safeguard data exchange with various stakeholders
